Why is the renewal price different from the first year?
The first year is a promotional rate that registries and registrars discount to win your business. The renewal is the real ongoing cost. We show both up front so nothing surprises you in twelve months.
Do I have to buy more than one year?
No. Everything registers for a single year and renews annually. You can turn renewal off at any time from your account.
Can I move a domain I already own?
Yes. Transfers usually take five to seven days and add a year to your registration. Send us the domain and we will walk you through unlocking it at your current registrar.
Who owns the domain?
You do. It is registered in your name with you as the legal registrant. We are listed only as the technical contact, and you can remove us whenever you want.
What happens if I forget to renew?
We email you at 30, 14 and 3 days out. After expiry most extensions sit in a redemption window for around 30 days, during which we can usually recover it for a registry fee.
Do I need hosting to buy a domain?
Not at all. Plenty of people register a name here and point it somewhere else. Full DNS control is included either way.
